My PhD Research in a Nutshell

      Latha is currently working as Innovation Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Auckland. She finished her PhD in 'Recommendation based Visualisation and Control System for saving Household Electricity' at The University of Auckland (New Zealand) in April 2018 and her thesis was nominated for Distinguished Thesis Award by one of the examiners. She finished her Master degree in Computer Science and Engineering at SSN College of Engineering in Chennai, India and she finished her Bachelor degree in Information Technology in Velalar College of Engineering and Technology, India. For her academic excellence, she received the Second rank in Bachelor degree and Eighth rank in Master degree. She had published more than 20 papers in reputed National and International Conference and Journals.     

 

          Latha is the recipient of the Best Outgoing Student Award (2008), a Merit Scholarship Award for Master degree (2009-2011) and The University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship Award (2013-2016) and IEEE IES SPTA 2017 (Student Travel Award). Latha also won the Leadership Award for serving as the President of engineering Postgraduate Society at The University of Auckland, and she also won Leadership and Service Award (SILVER) from the University of Auckland for serving as the Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering, North NZ section. Also, she is a certified Oracle Java professional. Latha's area of interest includes Smart Homes (saving household electricity), Agile Software Development.

 

              Latha has around 1.5 years of experience in Infosys Limited, Chennai and about 4.5 years of teaching experience, out of which 3.5 years teaching experience in New Zealand.
